The Vincent

14 Vincent Street, Cessnock, is a heritage-listed, high profile building in the Cessnock Central Business District with main street exposure.

It was originally the Cessnock Soldiers Memorial Hall, built in 1922, and erected in memory of the men of the district who served in World War One. The site was donated by the State Government, and the foundation-stone was laid by General Rosenthal. The architect was Mr. W. Pender, from West Maitland.

When VC Management acquired the building it had sat vacant for a number of years, having most recently been used as a credit union.

The building was sympathetically restored and renovated, into an architecturally designed and purpose-built childcare centre; Cessnock Kids Preschool and Early Learning Centre.

The significant heritage of the building was respected in the redevelopment, including restoring the high profile façade and maintaining original features.

Cessnock Kids Preschool and Early Learning Centre is a privately owned and family run service. The operators have over 40 years’ experience in the early childhood education and care sector.

Some words from the operators:
“Our goal for Cessnock Kids is to be a service that provides the highest quality early childhood education and care for young children in our local community. We seek to develop a strong sense of belonging in children, allowing them to enjoy play based experiences encouraging a lifelong love of learning.”

Cessnock Kids caters for children 0-6 years and offers a number of services including their School Readiness and Transition to School Program.
